Welcome to Release Day!
Today I have for you a creation inspired by the great Jennifer McGuire. She posted a Youtube video featuring a pop up feature, using no special dies. I started by coloring the stamp set and then fussy cutting it out. I also heat embossed a sentiment with purple embossing powder, using my Cottontail Embossing Tool. I set those aside and then started "building" the card.
I created the front panel with the Cat Eye Stencil by TRHD with Ranger distress oxide ink in squeezed lemonade. Then I cut a panel out using stacking dies. You can customize the size of the panel according to the look you are trying to achieve.
Next I created the background or the "dance room" with matching yellow printed paper and a "wood" flooring from a paper pad. Once that is done, it is on to the pop up feature.
I cut a piece of cardstock about 2 inches longer on each side as the front panel. I then scored every half inch 3 times, on each side. I will fold those lines back and forth, first away from the card and then alternating. Glue the accordioning style pieces to the background and then glue the front panel to the pop up cardstock. I then glue a piece of acetate to the panel creating the window.
I decided to glue the dancers to the front of the card to create a more 3D effect but they would look just as adorable glued straight to the background. I also glued the sentiment on the panel. I completed this card by gluing it to a standard size card panel and this card is ready to go. This is so adorable sitting on a shelf displayed as an encouraging reminder. I encourage you to take a look at Jennifer McGuire's YouTube video to get a further look at how to create this project.
I challenge you to recreate this and make sure to tag me @craftwithme101 and The Rabbit Hole Designs on Instagram if you do.
